Anna Graham has her hands in a lot of sewing goodness these days and if you’re a Making magazine reader you may be familiar with her work, from petal pouches and totes, to wallets and her newest amazing project in COLOR, the Making Backpack. Anna’s ambition and passion is evident as she tells her makers journey, one I’m sure many of you will be able to relate to. We’re so inspired by her approach to making and hope you will be to. This was a lovely interview! Although I am a passionate knitter, sewing is something I really need to look into. I can make a simple skirt (badly) but I’d love to be able to make all of my wardrobe at some point. I feel that the combination of CREATING and PURPOSE is very powerful. I don’t just want to make pretty clothes for the sake of making them/ being able to make them. I need my work to have a purpose – to know that everything I am creating is useful and practical as well as unique and flattering. I already get this lovely feeling of fulfilment and mindfulness while knitting. Sewing is the next step! Thank you for inspiring me. 🙂

I love hearing how Anna grew up with her mom kindly guiding her through all her sewing beginnings. What a gift to have such an accepting mom with all her beginning mistakes!
